Where gothic takes a new dimension.
"Classy, catchy and addictive” is how Subterfuge were described by Belgian magazine ‘Dark Entries’ when reviewing the 2017 album “Blind to Reason” and to enable that addiction Subterfuge are releasing a CD in June 2020.
The CD is a 6 track EP/Mini Album and opens with a ‘gothed up’ cover version of the classic 1983 Soft Cell song “Heat”.
Also on the CD are 3 new original tracks (The Empty Embrace, Apathy, As Strong As Your Weakness) plus a remix of “Heat” and a 1997 live recording of Subterfuge covering another song, this time The Sisters of Mercy track “Body Electric”.
The CD is limited to just 200 copies worldwide and each one is hand numbered.
This latest offering delivers all that you’d want and expect from Subterfuge, guitar based goth rock with customary deep vocals which are very natural and never trying.
Combine that with their subtle use of keyboards and a distinguished dark melodic quality ensues.
Subterfuge are still classy, still catchy and depending on your vices, still very much addictive.
Subterfuge is: Clifford Ennis & Rick Mullen.
