Kronstadt Avengers T-shirts
Following the brutal arrest and subsequent imprisonment at the hands of the Greek state during the 2003 Thessaloniki EU summit, Simon Chapman and five other comrades survived a 54-day long hunger strike which eventually saw them released to await trial; a process that would take another eight years to finalise, and which would exact a heavy toll on those involved. Simon, a stalwart of the London anarchist scene and a prominent activist within the W.O.M.B.L.E.S and Class War, died in February 2017, aged 43. His friends and comrades set up the memorial fund to benefit the young family he has left behind. In line with an original design the W.O.M.B.L.E.S had back in the day but never got round to making, this double sided, ultra-sectarian trot-baiting shirt reminds us of the moment when authoritarian communism and anarchism became forever divided: the crushing of the Kronstadt uprising by the Bolshevik Red Army in 1921. Our friend Simon, like the Kronstadt sailors, will never be forgotten.
