Morgellons at Café Reflections, Southampton

Sat 03rd March 2018
@ Cafe Reflections - Southampton

The third Rebellious Reflections gig at Café Reflections, Southampton…

“London based quartet MORGELLONS have been causing something of a stir on the capital’s music scene, and the ripples are spreading further afield, striking a chord with an appreciative and rapidly increasing audience.
Taking the post-punk blueprint of bands like Joy Division and Magazine, the frozen intensity of early Banshees, and the art-school nihilism of the Velvet Underground to the Stooges, Morgellons have created a sound that has a relevance and urgency that marks them out as something different from their peers.
The first album ‘The Memory Of Echoes’ on Flicknife Records received extremely positive reviews, including a 9/10 rating in Vive Le Rock magazine.
The new album ‘Morgellons’ will be a benchmark in post-punk music, and a future rock classic. An indication that a genuinely original and exciting new band has arrived.”

It is with great delighted that we welcome Morgellons to the Café for this show.

5 Go Mad
Hardworking Pompey punks 5 Go Mad return to Southampton to play their first gig in the Café. A band that you will not easily forget, these guys go balls to the wall when playing live – quite literally!

Rebel Station
“Rebel Station are a new Punk Rock band playing their original tunes, the old school way.
Formed October 2014, in Gloucester with members from Punk bands “First Wave” and “The small Things”, the band’s music is a mix of old school punk & solid British rock, with lyrics that make a statement about the society we live in, while keeping tongue firmly in cheek.
If you look back with fondness to the original punk era, or you missed the chance to see what all the fuss was about, you need to see Rebel Station!”

Playing at the Café for a second time, these boys are not to be missed!

Inferior complex
Playing their version of early 80s post-punk with a futuristic flavour, Southampton’s Inferior Complex will be setting the tone for this show, so be sure to get down early to catch their post-punk / experimental set. Tunes such as “Sin City”, “Last Chance”, and “Tekno” take the listener to a different place… Great stuff!

Tickets for this show are priced at £8 in advance, and will be £10 on the door.
