Let’s Stop Hanging Out DIY

Label showcase #1 featuring 2 of our favourite UK labels… Specialist Subject Records and Alcopop Records

Tellison (Alcopop! Records)
Tellison is a four-piece waking-nightmare of a band from London, UK. Formed in 2005 out of a shared love of unsuccessful indie rock bands of the late 90s and early 00s Tellison have released three albums (2007’s “Contact! Contact!”, 2011’s “The Wages of Fear” and 2015’s “Hope Fading Nightly”) and a clutch of sold-out singles. They write imperfect songs about hope, loss, love and literature. Lead single “Say Silence” from 2011’s sophomore album “The Wages of Fear” somehow managed to reference Shakespeare, Jacques Lacan, Bill Murray, Wes Anderson, John Donne and Tarantino in the same breath – not a huge number of people noticed. Undaunted, with the release of “Hope Fading Nightly”, album number three, on September 18th 2015 through Alcopop Records, the band are currently dusting off their guitars and referencing conventions and stepping up to take another swing at, if not the big time, at least the medium time.

Caves (Specialist Subject Records)
Caves are a three piece DIY punk band from Bristol.
“Bristol outfit Caves are by now a household name on the UK punk scene, and not by luck or coincidence either. A hardworking band with exceptional song writing talent and live shows full of action and energy have brought them where they are today.” – Already Heard

Peaness (Alcopop! Records)
Three piece indie-pop band Peaness formed in Chester, England in late 2014. Their latest EP “Are You Sure?” is out now via Alcopop Records! and is available online, on CD and on 12″ limited edition yellow vinyl.
One of the hottest new bands around at the moment, they have just played a string of dates supporting The Cribs and looked destined for big things.

Fresh (Specialist Subject Records)
London punks Fresh released one of the best records of last year. Their self-titled debut album fulfilling the promise of a number of early self released singles and EP’s and time after time winning over fans with every show they played. Be prepared to fall in love with this band!

itoldyouiwouldeatyou (Alcopop! Records)
Indie-punk with lots to say. Rapidly becoming one of the most important bands to come out of our local scene. Having left the area to take the London scene by storm they have been justly rewarded, being unveiled as the latest signing to the Alcopop! family.

DOGEYED (Specialist Subject Records)
Soft, sad, indie rock from Bristol. Now full band with members of Caves & Woahnows.
