Leisure Tank are a new London based female led power-duo arrived from Berlin.
Originally, K.C. (Katalin Czenker) is from Ossak, a tiny East German farm town that was home before the wall came down. Her songs echo that tough landscape, while her gutsy voice and electric guitar can be compared to an early PJ Harvey.
She is backed by Budi on drums who treats the instrument like it were ten, making huge complex rhythms on a gorgeous old Ludwig kit.
The duo, in other guises, performed over seven hundred shows in punk squats and alternative acoustic clubs across Europe for a decade, saving their newer harder sound for the tougher British bar and festival crowds. Currently they are building their fanbase in the UK and are soon to release the first Leisure Tank album.
Based in North London, Belonging are branching out from their bedroom-pop origins into a fully-fledged live act.
Taking in indie, pop, grunge, electro and folk influences, recent song “On & On” has been championed by Radio X’s John Kennedy, and there’s a set full of big choruses and nervous energy waiting where that came from.
