Spring has sprung and to celebrate, Paul Diello has put together another fantastic line up of live music, comedy and cabaret for the March edition of El Geebee Tea Queue. This month we have performances from Dom Pat (comedy), Miss Disney (cabaret), Dick Day (cabaret), Oli Spleen (music), Matthew Callow (music), Ethereal (music).
****** Dom Pat ******
A boisterous burly bear and razor witted gag merchant, Dom is a prime talent with fantastic material as sharp as his tailoring and crazily curly as his moustache.
****** Miss Disney ******
Miss Disney is all about bringing your inner child to the surface and being
surrounded by nostalgia through different Disney Era hits from Pinocchio to Moana, you name it she’s got it!!
****** Dick Day ******
Dick Day is an energetic, eccentric oddball whose humorous and ready to have some fun. She’s weird, she’s friendly and best of all she wants to make you laugh…all with a side of “WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?”…Dick’s stories and characters will take you on a journey you won’t forget in a hurry. Oh, and she loves a good prop! Every Dick has its Day.. so make this one yours!
****** Oli Spleen ******
Oli’s former band The Flesh Happening were banned from several Brighton venues for their aberrant behaviour (you’ll have to ask him yourself!) but his current band, Pink Narcissus, have swapped the confrontational stance and bare-bones garage rock for a diverse form of punk metal, albeit with agonisingly confessional lyrics. Tonight sees Oli singing solo with accompaniment from Steve Johnson.
****** Matthew Callow ******
Matthew Callow has made his life-long dream of recording his own music come true. A lot of hard work and dedication has gone into starting his musical journey. He has been working with London based producer Jonathan Essex to create his new album Neon Moon which was released in Feb this year. Although Matthew enjoys studio work, his real love is performing live in front of an audience.
****** Ethereal ******
Vibrant, iconic and diverse musical artist Swedish born Thai Waritsara ‘Yui’ Karlberg began turning heads after having released her ambient folk debut album ‘Yui’ in 2012 and then a year later, her second ‘Beauty Within The Beast’ followed shortly by her electro pop third album ‘Touching the Rainbow’. Yui is building a solid name for herself as a creative composer and producer as well as a transgender woman and activist walking in the shadows of great artists and her music has been praised as thought evoking.
