Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker includin versions of Lorem Ipsum and more recently with desktop publishing software lik

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (3 Nov. 2014) Keith Levene’s “Commercial Zone 2014” the so-called “Lost 4th PiL album” drops on November 23, 2014 or exactly 35 years to the day when PiL’s masterpiece “Metal Box” was released.

Levene was a founding member/shareholder of Public Image, Ltd. or “PiL” which organized operations as a bona fide limited liability company in 1978. Over the course of the next five years, Levene was the company’s musical composer and guitarist – amongst other corporate titles held by him. During his tenure, PiL released the highly regarded albums First Issue, Metal Box and Flowers of Romance.

However, creative differences over the fourth PiL release Commercial Zone resulted in Levene’s resignation from the organization in 1983 just as PiL – considered by many to be the first post-punk band – was about to embark on a tour of Japan that Levene helped to arrange.

Fast forward: Its now 30 years later and thanks to a successful Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign that reached almost 200% of its target, Levene has now finished what he started in his early 20s at Park South Studios in Manhattan. Only this time the location is Faust Studios in Prague, “CZ” and Levene has done it his way.

His way includes unique hand-painted and numbered cover art designed by Levene himself to accompany the CDs that Indiegogo project backers who selected this perk will get.

“I cannot tell you what came first: the music or the art; the visual or the sounds because they emerged together,” says Levene. “I sat at my desk in the white room at Faust Studios with my guitar in my lap and a paint brush in my hand surrounded by all these bright colors that seemed to bring the music to life. I painted as I composed. As I played guitar these abstract vibrant inky images popped into my head and I painted them. So the music and art took shape at basically the same time.”

Commercial Zone 2014 includes completely new music composed by Levene who is also the producer on the project. Nonetheless where the marriage of Levene’s art and music is concerned, some things remain the same. Levene used his vintage Travis Bean metallic guitar on the project the same one used 35 years ago on Metal Box.

Additionally “One of the best known tunes from the Commercial Zone 1983-1984 project is called ‘the Slab.’ It was about this huge slab of black concrete which a well-known graffiti artist painted on. I guess you could say art in the early ‘80s in Manhattan inspired me to write my music. Same is true today – only it’s my own art now,” Levene explains.

Levene is currently putting the final production touches on the album. He has released a few sneak peaks on his YouTube channel teenageguitarist76. Commercial Zone 2014 is available exclusively through Levene’s website www.teenageguitarist76. For further information contact the CZ2014 team at [email protected]

With the scene saturated with trumpets, pop punk and god only knows what other shit there seems little out there at the moment to tickle my punk g-spot and then I got my hands on a copy of ‘Mongrel Hordes’ by Die Wrecked.

Die Wrecked are a Leicester based trio who have been together since 2012 and this is their debut album. The album hits its mark with the precision of a laser guided bomb; the air is sucked right out of your lungs as the pressure wave knocks you off your feet. From the opening blast of ‘Middle Class Hypocrisy’ with its city levelling drums, flesh stripping guitar, stomping bass and both barrel male and female vocal attack we are given a taste of what lies in wait.

The album thunders along at 500 miles per hour, with sabres waving and teeth gnashing. It is impossible to ignore the sheer outrage on display here. Die Wrecked have a lot of axes to grind against the current state of affairs and are unlike a lot of new bands who have fuck all to say. There’s no doubting Die Wrecked are livid and with song titles such as ‘U.K.P.L.C.’, ‘Get off the Fence’, ‘Regression of Progression’ and ‘Privileged Parasite’ you know they are addressing some of the many problems and injustices that we are subjected to. If you are not angry listening to this then I think you may well be dead.

There are ten slices of pure punk indignation and the entire album is over faster than a well executed bank robbery, but if you’re anything like me then it will stay in your CD player for some time to come.

The band are currently touring Indonesia in support of this album and have laid down a solid foundation for any future recording with ‘Mongrel Hordes’. I for one hope that they get the support they deserve and long may they rally against the crimes of the system.

I await with bated breath for the next chapter in the Die Wrecked story.

After several months of tests, Punkaholics Anonymous Radio will start broadcasting 24/7 on New Years Night.
This will mean more shows coming, but one in particular will be sure to get people curious, the "Thursday Takeover Show", which is a basic "open mic night", in Radio Show version. It will let you become a Radio DJ by pre recording and submitting a 2 hours show to be aired, you pick your tracks, talk about whatever you like, and after we are happy that is broadcastable, we will put it on air . Its that simple.
For more info on how to submit the shows, visit our website link
